Five years ago, Melaney Smith encountered a second-grader who wasn’t looking forward to summer break. The reason? She would lose free access to books! Summer slide, or the decrease in reading achievement over summer vacation, is often simply the result of students not having enough to read at home. On June 24th, 2014, Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta held its second annual brewery event when we gathered for good at Orpheus Brewing! The evening was a great success with over 165 volunteers, clients, friends and supporters in attendance. Orpheus Brewing is in close proximity to several PBPA clients such as Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and Operation PEACE, and we took the opportunity to highlight clients and accomplishments with signage throughout the venue.
